Rapid Prototyping

With the use of our recently opened Learning Skills Centre we are pleased to offer schools the chance to bring groups of students down to experience a taster of what we can offer at HEC. The Learning Skills Centre is fully equipped including a suite of PC's with CAD software, laser cutter, two rapid prototyping machines and an array of machining equipment.

Students are invited to come down to get a taster of CAD using our SolidWorks packages and produce the components that they design using our rapid prototyping equipment.

Opportunities are available to incorporate experience days within a curriculum framework and as such, small prototype pieces can be produced for subjects such as GCSE Graphics. The photo below shows a sample of board game pieces that were produced for GCSE Graphics in the 07/08 academic year.
